Makasutu is a wildlife reserve located near Brikama. The reserve is aproximately 1000 acres and is home to many birds and animals.

ABUKO NATURE RESERVE

264-acre preserve housing wildlife such as monkeys, snakes, crocodiles & orphaned hyenas.

Greetings & Respect

The general greeting is the Arabic Salaamaleikum (Peace be unto to you), and one responds with Maleikumsalaam (and peace be also with you)

Food & Dining

Benachin - Rice cooked with meat or fish and vegetables and tomatoes. Domoda - Meat stewed in peanut puree and served with rice. Superkanja - A mix of okra, fish or meat, palm oil, onions and pepper boiled together.

Dress & Occasions

The traditional kind of clothing for Gambian women and men tends to be long and free flowing clothes.
